SHELTER is going on tour!

After a great premiere at the Burchfield Penney Art Center (BPAC) in 2020-2021 https://www.burchfieldpenney.org/exhibitions/exhibition:12-11-2020-03-28-2021-lisa-karrer-shelter/, followed by an exhibit at the Pomona Cultural Arts Center, SHELTER is traveling to the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center (OCAC) for a museum-wide exhibit from April 25 – August 19 2024 https://oklahomacontemporary.org/exhibitions/upcoming/shelter.

Thanks to OCAC’s wonderful team, I engaged with individuals and families from Oklahoma City during a museum residency in December 2023, to create all-new audio narratives and green screen video scenarios featuring a range of displaced local communities. They will be seen and heard in the exhibit of ceramic architectural forms, with tablemounts designed in collaboration with fellow Rockland-based artist Bill Hochhausen.
